BRAKE OPERATOR: JOB DESCRIPTION: Shapes punched or plain flat steel into specific three dimensional shapes according to drawing specifications using knowledge of the mechanical properties of various metals and metal thicknesses and using proper tooling and set-up procedures to produce a highly accurate quality part: measures overall dimension of raw part checking for correct shear cut; checks shop paper and shop drawing to determine desired design configuration; analyze to determine proper bending sequence; selects proper dies and punches and sets-up calibration by checking dies and punches, stops and back gauge; reviews program for errors; follows set up procedures to ensure process is correct and carefully takes a first-off part and checks dimensionally against drawing and make dimensional adjustments in program if necessary taking care in not producing off specification parts or overloading the gateway requirements of the organization; with proper set -up produces the desired numbe
