1. Information We Collect

LMIA Finder collects different types of information depending on how you use our platform:

Analytics Data (All Visitors)

• Pages visited and navigation paths
• Anonymized IP address and approximate country
• Browser user agent (browser type, operating system)
• Referrer URL (the page that directed you to our site)

Account Data (Registered Users)

When you create an account, we collect:

• First name and last name
• Email address
• Password (stored securely — we never store or have access to your actual password)

Premium Subscription Data

If you subscribe to Premium, we additionally store:

• Subscription status and billing period dates
• Saved job preferences and job alert configurations
• CV scoring results and feedback
• Generated and edited templates

We do not store your credit card number, bank details, or full payment information. All payment processing is handled securely by Stripe (see Section 7).

2. How We Use Information

The information we collect is used to:

• Improve the quality and performance of our service
• Understand how visitors interact with our platform
• Identify popular content and areas for improvement
• Monitor and maintain site stability
• Authenticate your account and manage your subscription
• Deliver Premium features including job alerts, saved jobs, CV scoring, and templates
• Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, subscription confirmations)
• Send job alert notifications based on your preferences

We do not sell, trade, or rent your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

LMIA Finder uses minimal cookies and browser local storage necessary for basic site functionality and authentication. We store an authentication token in your browser's local storage to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or cross-site tracking technologies. No data is shared with advertising networks.

4. Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your name and email address. This information is used exclusively to send you updates about job market trends, immigration news, and platform features. We do not send spam or share your email with third parties. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link provided in every email.

5. Data Retention

We retain data according to the following practices:

• Analytics data is retained in aggregate form and is not linked to individual user accounts
• Account data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request account deletion at any time
• Premium data (saved jobs, alerts, templates, CV scores) is retained while your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, this data is preserved in case you resubscribe
• Newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion
• Payment records are maintained by Stripe in accordance with their retention policies and applicable financial regulations

We periodically review and purge data that is no longer needed.

6. AI-Processed Data

Certain Premium features use artificial intelligence provided by third-party AI services to deliver functionality:

• CV Scoring — Your uploaded CV is processed by our AI service provider for analysis. The content is processed in real-time and is not permanently stored by us or our provider. Only the scoring results and feedback are saved to your account
• Template Generation — Occupation-specific templates are generated using AI. These templates are generic and do not contain your personal data

Our AI service providers are contractually bound to process data only as instructed and do not use your data to train their models.

7. Third-Party Services

LMIA Finder relies on the following third-party services:

• Government of Canada — We retrieve publicly available LMIA, Job Bank, and immigration program data from official government sources
• Stripe — Handles all payment processing for Premium subscriptions. When you subscribe, your payment details are collected and processed directly by Stripe. We receive only a customer identifier and subscription status — never your card number or banking details. See Stripe's Privacy Policy
• AI Partner — Powers AI features including CV scoring and template generation via secure API calls
• Google reCAPTCHA — Protects login and signup forms from automated abuse
• Cloud Hosting — Our platform is hosted on secure, industry-standard cloud infrastructure

These services have their own privacy policies governing data they process.

8. Children's Privacy

LMIA Finder is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to any personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate personal data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated personal data
• Cancel your Premium subscription at any time from your dashboard
• Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time
• Export your saved jobs, alerts, and CV scoring history
• Ask questions about our data practices

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. All data is transmitted over HTTPS, passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms, and our infrastructure follows security best practices including rate limiting, input validation, and protection against common web vulnerabilities. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. If we make material changes that affect how we handle your personal data, we will notify registered users via email. Your continued use of LMIA Finder after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
