Languages: English Education: Earned doctorate degree. Law (LLB, JD, BCL) Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years Work setting: Private practice. Employer's home Tasks: Advise clients of their legal rights and all matters related to law. Perform administrative functions related to the practice of law. Plead clients' cases before courts of law, tribunals and boards (lawyers only). Draw up legal documents and prepare statements of legal opinion. Negotiate settlements of civil disputes (lawyers only). Represent interests of corporation/employer in all business related to legal matters. Offer mediation, conciliation and arbitration services. Research legal precedents and gather evidence Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Membership in the Canadian Bar Association. Membership in a provincial or territorial law society Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel. MS Outlook. MS PowerPoint. MS Windows.
