EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY - YOUTH WORKER. 35 hours/week. Qualifications and Skills Required. Post-secondary education in related field of study such as: social service worker, child and youth worker, sociology, psychology. NVCI, CPR and First Aid, ASIST certification. Experience working with at risk youth in schools and peer-based programs.. Sound knowledge of the principles of restorative justice and peer conflict mediation with youth.. Sound knowledge of evidence based interventions for youth in school.. Sound knowledge of the roles and functions of schools, police, relevant community resources and legislation.. Interviewing, counselling, case management, group facilitation and conflict resolution skills.. Report writing, recording, data collection, statistical management, program implementation and evaluation skills.. Volunteer management and supervision skills..
