College or university education in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Drafting, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 1–2 years of mechanical design/drafting experience preferred. Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, custom steel fabrication, or bulk material handling environment is an asset. Advanced AutoCAD and Inventor skills are required. Experience with Solid Edge is considered an asset. Experience with ERP systems, particularly Microsoft AX, is preferred. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production planning. Knowledge of raw materials including sheet, plate, pipe/tube, and round bar. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand how components are manufactured and assembled.
