CLSI is now accepting applications for an Associate Scientist position on the VESPERS beamline. The VESPERS beamline (Very Sensitive Elemental and Structural Probe Employing Radiation from a Synchrotron) is a hard X-ray microprobe beamline with X-ray spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction capabilities, providing a high level of complementary structural and analytical information. Responsibilities:- Training and supporting users at the beamline to ensure that they are able to perform their scientific experiments in a safe and effective manner.- Assisting users and other beamline staff in sample preparation and data processing.- Aligning beamline optical components and setting up the endstation for users experiments.- Analyzing and solving routine technical problems and developing recommendations to solve difficult, complex, or unusual problems.- Preparing beamline documentation and ensuring designs conform to CLS standards, and other relevant codes, standards and practices.- Assisting the B
