Languages: English Education: College/CEGEP. Veterinary/animal health technology/technician and veterinary assistant Experience: 5 years or more Work setting: Veterinary clinic Tasks: Collect samples and perform other laboratory tests. Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery. Produce diagnostic radiographs. Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery. Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of veterinarian. Administer treatments as prescribed by veterinarian. Counsel clients on animal health care. May perform a variety of office management and clerical duties. Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry.
