Radiation oncologists are medical specialists with expertise in the diagnosis and care of patients of all ages with malignant disease. They use knowledge of the basic and clinical sciences of oncology in the delivery of therapeutic ionizing radiation and other forms of treatment. Radiation oncologists apply knowledge of the techniques, indications and contraindications to the use of radiotherapy.
