Payroll Administrator

Apollo Sheet Metal is a mid to large size construction & manufacturing company managed by the union. We are looking for a full time senior payroll person to take over payroll department. This is not an HR position, it is processing payroll and related remittances. We currently have a payroll of about 150 and growing. Projects in other areas could mean multi-union and WorkSafe. Responsibilities: Enter time from daily and weekly timesheets into Jonas Construction (job costing software). Check for discrepancies on time cards (details are very important as labour cost is significant on job costing reports). Process payroll for approximately 130- 200 mostly unionized employees accurately and in a timely manner.. Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local payroll regulations. Calculate and process deductions, taxes, and garnishments. Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data, including apprenticeship hours and sick pay entitlement.
