Languages: English Education: No degree, certificate or diploma Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year Work site environment: Hog and pig farming. Dangerous. Dusty. Hot. Noisy. Odours Work setting: Rural area. Staff accommodation available. Various locations Tasks: Handling animals. Monitoring animal health. Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration. Track and report on current feed inventory. Weaning. Feed and tend animals. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain quality control and production records. Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens. Maintain work records and logs. Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry. Perform general farm duties.
