Animal Control Officer

Brief: The Animal Control Officer (ACO) is responsible for all aspects of the Animal Control function that the People for Animal Wellbeing (PAW) provides to the community. The ACO will work closely with, and directly reports to, the Animal Control Team Leader in all matters carrying out such programs as assigned. The role is best suited to someone able to maintain calm under pressure, someone with conflict resolution skills and abilities, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with all community members.. The incumbent will be expected to work alone and as part of a team in order to enforce municipal bylaws, work alongside other agencies in a professional and respectful manner and may be required to work evenings, overnight and/or weekends as needed.. Although the primary role is one of bylaw enforcement for PAW on behalf of the municipalities we serve, secondary roles revolve around the department's availability to transport supplies/equipment or animals and attending publi
