Marine Service Technician

Overview: West Bay Shipyards, a yacht service and repair yard in Delta BC, is hiring a journeyman-level Marine Service Technician (or equivalent) to install, commission, service, and repair the mechanical systems aboard our clients' yachts. You will work alongside our project and production teams to get each yacht through sea trials and back to its owner. Duties: Install, align, and commission propulsion and mechanical systems, including engines, gears, shafting, and steering. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on yachts in service and repair. Carry out scheduled maintenance, warranty work, and pre-delivery inspections. Support sea trials and dockside commissioning, recording results and punch-list items. Read and work from drawings, schematics, and manufacturer service manuals.
