_Job Summary _. _The Welder assembles and welds metal fabrications and participates in efficient methods of assembly which may be subjected to radiographic and pressure tests. _. _Job Responsibilities _. _Level I_. _Receives instructions and blueprints from Plant Manager. _. _Locates and moves materials to and from workstation. _. _Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, and templates. _. Makes the necessary jigs and fixtures in accordance with drawings and participates in efficient methods of assembly.. Makes cuts with hand torch, straightens, grinds, and fits parts in accordance with instructions or specifications.. Checks job and corrects fit-up where necessary.. Burns sections to facilitate fitting and burns bevels.. Welds areas that will be enclosed before completing fit up.. After inspection, makes necessary repairs and adjustments.. Recognizes and reports errors in blueprints, materials, tools, and equipment.. Sets up and read transit for levelling purposes.. Keeps work area
