Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator

Reporting to Director of Health & Safety, this position works in the field to implement and monitor our Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and business objectives. TRAVEL TO NORTHERN MINE SITES & EXPLORATION CAMPS IS REQUIRED. Duties:- Ensure day-to-day activities, from an OH&S perspective, comply with legislations, regulations, acts, by-laws, policies & procedures and sound business practices.- Ensure company SMS is in place, understood and followed by all staff.- Evaluate and monitor H&S hazards providing for a safe and healthy workplace for all employees and clients. - Work with Managers to ensure safety incidents are investigated, corrective actions identified & implemented and report submitted in company safety software.- Deliver Safety training to workforce. i.e. WHMIS, Investigations etc.- Complete safety inspections & participate in Safety Audits.- Ensure required documentation for JT Os, JH As, inspections, incidents, & all safety
