Provincial Benefits — Alberta

ACFBAlbertaQuarterly

Alberta Child and Family Benefit

The Alberta Child and Family Benefit (ACFB) is a tax-free quarterly payment for Alberta families with children under 18. Unlike some other provincial child benefits that are combined with the Canada Child Benefit (CCB), the ACFB is paid separately on its own quarterly schedule. It is administered by the CRA on behalf of the Province of Alberta and replaces the former Alberta Child Benefit and Alberta Family Employment Tax Credit.

Next payment: Friday, November 27, 2026 (in 19 days)

FAQs

Is the ACFB paid with the Canada Child Benefit?
No. The Alberta Child and Family Benefit is paid separately from the CCB on its own quarterly schedule (February, May, August, and November).
Who is eligible for the ACFB?
Alberta residents with children under 18 who file their income tax return may be eligible. The benefit is income-tested and administered by the CRA.
Do I need to apply separately for the ACFB?
No. If you are receiving the CCB and reside in Alberta, the CRA will automatically assess your eligibility for the ACFB.
