About OINP (Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program)
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is the largest Provincial Nominee Program in Canada. It offers multiple streams including the Human Capital Priorities stream (aligned with Express Entry), Employer Job Offer streams, Masters and PhD Graduate streams, and the In-Demand Skills stream. Ontario nominates thousands of skilled workers each year to support its diverse and growing economy.
A provincial nomination through OINP (Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program) adds 600 CRS points to your Express Entry profile (for Express Entry-aligned streams), virtually guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence. Non-Express Entry streams follow a separate application process directly through the province.
OINP (Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program) Draw FAQs
What is an OINP draw?
An OINP draw is a selection round conducted by Ontario's immigration program where candidates in the OINP Expression of Interest pool are invited to apply for provincial nomination. Each draw targets specific streams and sets minimum score requirements.
How often does OINP conduct draws?
OINP typically conducts draws every 1-4 weeks, though the frequency varies by stream. The Human Capital Priorities stream generally has the most frequent draws. Draw schedules are not announced in advance.
What is the OINP Human Capital Priorities stream?
The Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream is OINP's Express Entry-aligned stream that targets candidates in the federal Express Entry pool. If selected, candidates receive a provincial nomination worth 600 additional CRS points, virtually guaranteeing an invitation to apply for permanent residence.
How is the OINP score calculated?
For Express Entry-aligned streams, OINP uses your CRS score from your federal Express Entry profile. For employer job offer streams, OINP uses its own points-based system that considers factors like job offer, education, language proficiency, and labour market demand.
Can I apply to OINP without a job offer?
Yes. The Human Capital Priorities stream and the Masters and PhD Graduate streams do not require a job offer. However, having a job offer in Ontario can strengthen your application and may make you eligible for additional streams.
